Wheel building is a delicate job and accuracy is key. Wheels need to be radially & laterally true. They need to be dished and up to tension. The tension also needs to be balanced around the wheel to give you a wheel that 'stands'.

We have an array of Parktool® spoke wrenches, to suit many if not all spoke/nipple types. Including Shimano®, Mavic® and Campagnolo®.

Wheels can be laced in various patterns but we prefer (except in exceptional circumstances) radial, 2 cross and 3 cross. Taking into account intended use, the rider and parts manufacturers advise, we would guide you through which patterns are the best to use for you.

When a set of wheels has been built the spoke tenions will be input into the Parktool® Wheel Tension App. A visual spidergraph can be printed off to show the consistent overall wheel tension and balance of the relative tension around the wheel. Its a visual aid to show you the quality of the wheel build
